Greetings, my fellow Washingtonians...and others! Long time, no blog. I do apologize. Moving right along...my current answer to the question, "How are you?" is simply: "okay."
In about one week's time, I will be released into the mysterious unknown...or Wisconsin as some would say. Why?...you ask? We are being granted a four day pass to try and enjoy life again before departing to the Middle East. Quite exciting, yeah? I, too, agree. Do not ask what I'll be doing. My answer is simply: "I do not know."
Okay, so for the moment you've all been waiting for. Ladies and gentlemen...tonight's main event: Prayer requests! Here are just a few:
One) kennyD: For strength and wisdom; the courage to look the other way when temptations stares at me and allow God to step in between and remove it. To spend more time in books, to include diving into the Word, more often. I confess that it's difficult in this kind of environment.
Two) My fellow soldiers: They are very curious and very open. However, circumstances seem to blur their image of God. Some, more extreme than others. We have had very good conversations lately, praise be to God.
Three) Leadership: Wisdom, knowledge, and awareness of their soldiers' abilities, beliefs, and personal issues.
Four) Everyone: To take this training seriously and focus on the mission ahead of us. To not be distractions to each other...but comrades, watching out for one another; trusting one another...that no matter what comes our way...we are ready for it.
Five) Proper equipment and abundant resources: Nuff said.
Six) Adapting to a new way of life. Living conditions are not terrible, but may be uncomfortable...compared to what we are used to. To include sharing the space with 10 to 20 other guys. There is so much to be praying for, but I have little time left. I can't thank you enough for the support you give...not only to me, but to the rest of the guys I've come to know as brothers. And that they are, says the Father. =)
As I pray for you all, I am reminded of why I am where I am. I miss you all love you very much and can't wait for the return home. Until then, keep blogging! ;)
This blog has been established in order to keep in touch with a place I like to call "home" ...and all its inhabitants. Please do not rely on updates being made at any peticular set times. Failure to comply may result in a horrible disease, known as disappointment. Symptoms include drowned pupils, an abnormal sized bottom lip and... diarrhea.
NOTE: Only complete devotion in the absence of obsession will drive you to make a commitment in checking this site, constantly...at your own convenience.
PS: This text is a product of the humor I think I left with...stirred with a more dry humor I have developed, recently. ;)
Thank you for your love and support! Your prayers are surely being heard. I can't wait to have some more time and share with you what God has been doing at Fort McCoy! Take care of each other and strive to take hold and get even closer to the Beloved! I miss you all!
